The boys and I are traveling today. We are on our way to Vicksburg, MS to meet my mom, sister, and niece. We are super excited! We haven’t see each other since Thanksgiving. The seven hour road trip is worth it! I will be sharing photos and stories about our trip next week. Until then, you can see what Vicksburg has to offer (: Before I left my sweet husband for the weekend, I decided to make one of his favorite desserts – Peach Cobbler. I thought I would share the recipe with you (:

I have been decluttering my kitchen for a couple of weeks now. This is my pantry:

I definitely had one of “those” days. A clumsy, bad luck kind of day. At 5:45 a.m., my bathroom counter looked similar to this

At 5:47 a.m. this happened

I was very sad ): My mom gave me these apothecary jars several months ago. I am not even sure how it happened….?? This began a series of events. It seemed that everything I touched today, I dropped. Spilled. Broke. Knocked over. At 7:00 p.m., we decided to go for a bicycle ride. While pumping my tire, the thingamajig on the tire where the air goes in split. Really…?? So much for the bike ride. I did, however, replace the jar on my counter. For now at least.

I have several different sizes of these canisters in my kitchen. Not sure if it belongs in the bathroom. But I it works for now.
I am finished for the day.
Tomorrow will be a bright, sunny day for me. Even if it is raining.

I have been the recipient of many hand-me-down pieces of furniture over the years. Believe me, I am NOT complaining. I have appreciated each and every piece! But, the pieces don’t blend together very well. I have oak, pine, cherry, and a few laminate pieces in my home. My first project to share with you is a nightstand. It has been used in several rooms in my house. It was originally used to hold a t.v. and VCR (yes it is that old) in my son’s playroom. We have since switched to a larger t.v. and DVD player (: So, now it has a new purpose. And it needs a new color. I chose black. Very classic, very simple. I thought a perfect color for my first project.

I love pasta. All types of pasta. Period. But, I have always been afraid to cook lasagna. I had come to the conclusion that boiling the noodles was too difficult…not sure why…maybe because I didn’t know HOW to cook. My love for cooking did not begin until I bought my KitchenAid stand mixer two years ago. I didn’t buy the fancy, smancy one. This is my model. I still only have one attachment – the paddle. But that is ok. It started my LOVE for cooking. I first used the mixer for brownies just so I could watch it spin. Yeah, I can be weird. I love for family/friends to visit so I can cook big meals! Even though they still like to tease me about my cooking. You know who you are…but I still love ya. Back to the lasagna.
I have to give credit to my sister-in-law, Melissa. She gave me the original recipe for this lasagna. I have tweaked it a bit, but it is still a very basic recipe. She also introduced me to No-Boil noodles. I never knew they existed. If so, maybe I would have cooked this dish long before now. Thank you Melissa!
