A few months ago, I found this entry table for $75. Not a steal, but still a deal
.

By the way, the table doesn’t lean. Evidently I do…?? A local furniture store had a fire and sold all their goods for cheap. Too bad I missed out the first two days…
. I was so excited to find this table!! Really, you have no idea. We had searched for an entry table for – ever! Not an easy feat when you are cheap. HA! The table made a friend this week – a new mirror.

Hobby Lobby was nice enough to sell this mirror to me for 50% off. I decided to go with a simple mirror, because the gold on the table is a little bit fancy. Now I am stumped. The accessories need to go, but I am not sure what to add..?? Maybe a pop of color? Maybe buffet lamps? Not sure what to do. I am not a decorator by nature. I would appreciate your thoughts
.
Happy Friday!

I taught elementary school for 6+ years
. I was never very organized. My desk was never clean. I always had to dig for staples, paperclips, etc. One of my teacher friends asked me for suggestions on organizing her classroom. As I mentioned, I wasn’t very organized myself, but…I have picked up a few ideas while substituting for the last 2 years
. This is a tray on my workstation at home.

The tray was on clearance at Walmart – $2.50. Before it was red….

Now it’s black. Spray paint you deserve a pat on the back
. I used the leftover paint from the bed makeover.

The large vase $3 at Walmart, the small glass containers $1 at the Dollar Tree, the stapler was from my old classroom, and the notepad $4 at Marshalls. Total cost: around $12
If you don’t have a space for a big tray, you can use small containers inside drawers or on a bookshelf. Use items that make you smile. For me, when my desk/area looks pretty
it makes me happy. Too bad it took so many years to figure that one out! I will be posting more organizing tips over the next several weeks.
Happy Hump Day!

We have several of these lights in our home. How about you? Maybe something similar?

Last week, I finished decluttering 2 spaces in my home. My laundry room and my kitchen. It is amazing how it feels to walk into my kitchen knowing that a whole buncha junk isn’t hiding in the cabinets
. I donated several items and put a few in my storage closet to use in other areas of the house. Welcome to my clutter free kitchen! My son bought me this sign several years ago on our first trip to NYC. Even my 5 year old was aware of my lack of cooking skills.

We have guests coming next week! I love, love, love when family/friends come to see us
. So much to do! I go into cleaning overdrive when expecting guests. I drive everyone, that I love dearly, absolutely bananas. I am in constant motion for two weeks and everything is a mess again within 2 hours. But at least I have completed a few overdue projects in the guest bathroom. What was that? Overdue? Not me, not in my house. HA!
My guest bathroom is also the bathroom for my two boys. In case you didn’t know, boys are disgusting! You know what they say….frogs, and snails, and puppy dog tails
but oh how I love those boys!!!

Just keepin’ it real….
