Oak bed makeover
As you have read, I am in love with spraypaint. I keep finding things around my house to paint. Seriously, I think it has become an addiction :/ It started with the lamp makeover, then the picture frame. Now, my son’s full size bed! My very first makeover was a nightstand for his room. Now he has a matching bed.
Before
It was old and very worn
During
After
Supplies
sandpaper – for shiny surfaces
mask – for stinky paint
primer – I chose gray primer (because of the black paint) and the filler, honestly, because it was the only gray primer I could find at Home Depot
. It did help fill in a deep scratch.
I am still an amateur at this….and I was in a rush because too many people were on the paint isle….but it did get the job done!
2 cans of black spray paint
A and Z (nicknames we use for the boys) decided to share a room a few months ago. This project is one of MANY projects keeping me busy. I can’t wait for the final reveal……
Happy Monday!
Jen
It looks great Jen! The bedding really pops now.
I enjoy a quality post which is a very good effort. Keep up the good work with your blog.

looking good.
this looks so great!! i redid my daughter’s bed about 2 months ago, but did it in white. funny thing is, it’s almost the exact same bed you have pictured here except that it’s a twin and post toppers (? i guess) are balls, but they have kind of a flat top. but the rest of it looks the same. just curious, where did you get it?
Thank you! It was given to me by my aunt :)
Beautiful job! Great technique! Looking forward to seeing more!
Thank you! Spraypaint is awesome…I wish I would have realized this sooner :)

You are doing a great job with the room, can’t wait for the final reveal :) Thanks so much for adding your link to Beach Cottage Good Life Wednesdays and joining to the party!
You did a really great job. I can relate to your spray paint addiction. The only thing stopping me right now is the cold weather we are still having. Thanks for sharing at my Swing into Spring party.
it looks lovely in black! so much better and more classic!
Looks great!
Spray painting is totally addicting!! nice job!
Gotta love paint. The transformation is like magic! Can’t wait to see the boys’ room! Thanks so much for linking up to Terrific Under Ten.
I LOVE it….and I never knew they made “filler” spraypaint! Thanks so much for linking! :)
The bed looks just like new. I just discovered spray paint too, but I am not sold yet. I spray painted my front door yesterday, but I should probably have used two canisters. Oh, well. It did at least cover the worst of it. Found you at New Nostalgia.
Hi, friend! Your newest follower :) You’ve got so much creativity going on in your blog so can
you please share them with us at the Creative Bloggers’ Party & Hop?
This is a combination of linky party (where we can show off our
creations) and of blog hop (where we can follow as many excellent
bloggers as we like), hence the name Creative Bloggers’ Party & Hop.
It’s a great way to meet awesome creative bloggers like you and
increase your followers in the process.
All you have to do is 1) link up whatever creative post you’d like to
share – can be a DIY project, decor, photography, crafts, recipes,
poem, thrift finds, tips, or that informative syndicated post that can
make us laugh, or cry – in short, whatever you’re proud of! 2) Then
follow as many blogs as your heart desires, preferably starting first
with the one before you and after you, and leave a comment to them
that you’re doing so.
You’re not required to include the party button but if you’re so inclined
to display it in your blog or your post, you’re very much welcome to
do so :)

Thank you for the feature! You made my night :)
I have a similar bed and matching chest that I inherited from an Aunt. I keep debating whether to paint it or not. If I should ever decide to paint it, I know how to do it.
Glad you stopped by my blog :) I am quite the amateur when it comes to painting/redoing furniture. I hope my post helped you..I learn from trial and error :) Let me know how it turns out.
