ham and cheese baked sandwiches, ham and cheese, baked sandwiches, hot ham and cheese

Happy Monday! Today, I am sharing another recipe for breakfast/brunch/lunch for holiday guests.  This recipe is super quick and easy and can be prepared in advance.  Shout out to my sister in law, Melissa, for the recipe.  Thanks!

Baked Sandwiches

servings: 6 (2 sandwiches per person)

Ingredients:

1 package dinner rolls

3/4 lb. shaved ham (or turkey, or any meat you choose)

3/4 swiss cheese (again, any cheese that makes you smile)

1 stick of butter (use the real deal, not margarine)

1 tbsp. prepared mustard (optional)

1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce

1 tbsp. dried onion (optional)

Poppy seeds or sesame seeds (optional)

Directions:

Melt butter and stir in mustard, Worcestershire, and onions.

Slice through dinner rolls and place in bottom of baking dish. Stack with ham. Place cheese over ham to cover, then place top of dinner rolls over cheese.

Spoon butter mixture over rolls and sprinkle with poppy seeds (or sesame seeds, or nothing at all).  Cover and refrigerate overnight.  Or at least 4-6 hours.

Bake uncovered at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes.

Hope you enjoy!

Food Containers

§ July 22nd, 2011 § Filed under Holidays § Tagged , § 2 Comments

After several busy weeks, I FINALLY had a chance to go shopping!  I was having some serious shopping withdrawals.  No major moolah spent, but I found something awesome.

pans 037

Perfect for holiday leftovers, or homemade goodies for friends and neighbors. Only $1 per pack!  With lids!  These are great for cookies, muffins, candy, or any items light in weight.

20 for $6. I wouldn’t recommend the aluminum ones for heavy food. Plastic deli containers would work best for meat, pasta, soup, etc.   I found some great ones at Garnish (they have other items too) and AmazonBoth are very affordable.

But..always a but with me..I was thinking I could possibly get these containers for free.  Never hurts to ask your local deli for a few now and then Winking smile – especially if you are a regular customer.  I will let you know if I am lucky with that idea.  Also, if you order deli food – wash and keep those containers to reuse.

Can you tell I am ready for fall?  Already have holidays on my mind Smile.  It’s the heat!  Horrible, miserable TX heat!

Have a great weekend!
